I founded Morphius in 1993 with a small publishing settlement I got from a Minneapolis band called Boneclub (who I'd played with in '92), and a $3500 limit credit card. The first couple years I took freelance writing assignments to help pay the bills. I grew the company from the ground up, to over $2MM of annual revenues in less than 10 years by working absurdly long hours, taking a lot of risks, and maintaining a 100% commitment to my vision of what we were doing. Since then Morphius has built & opened our own recording studio ( http://lordbaltimorerecording.com ), manufactured 5000 different releases (more than 10 million units in total), and managed to stay ahead of the curve by constantly reinventing ourselves within an ever-changing industry.
