I led a team of DevOps engineers that help other teams successfully own and operate their service in production. Our customers are service owners expanding from first party datacenters to public cloud who need assistance in navigating the landscape. We provide targeted consulting support/assistance to help them quickly identify and overcome any blockers that may arise while engineering their services for public cloud.I worked on a newly formed API Gateway team for several sprints to help fast track DevOps work required for the service to launch. The work here included CI/CD, alerting/monitoring, and production network infrastructure.I led the migration of Customer 360 Data Manager to Hyperforce (public cloud). We migrated the main data processing pipeline to AWS using Apache Airflow to dynamically launch EMR clusters to run Spark jobs against the data. The DevOps effort here included the build-out of production-ready helm charts, docker images, Terraform modules, and Spinnaker pipelines for both Airflow and the dynamic EMR clusters.I led the migration of the Global Identity system to Hyperforce (public cloud) which was made up of several microservices and an LDAP server. We used an internal PaaS tool to generate the delivery pipeline for the services and then layered customizations on top for specific needs.

Member of the Cross Cloud Platform DevOps team supporting Customer 360 Data Manager. We were responsible for release management, observability, public cloud infra, and connectivity concerns to enable C360DM to go GA globally at DreamForce 2019.

Worked on a team of developers building a complex, cross-platform distributed system that includes WPF, Silverlight, and ASP.NET MVC. The team was geographically distributed across the globe and we used a very structured development process that includes mandatory code reviews and unit testing to produce high quality, maintainable code.Took that battle-tested development process and rolled it out organization-wide which included migrating teams onto a modern development platform (GitLab) and training them on usage of git, GitLab, code review, continuous integration, release management, and continuous delivery.Implemented autoscaling CI build runners that run builds inside docker containers on ephemeral servers in the cloud. Helped move the overall organization towards better delivery practices by adopting Docker containers and Kubernetes. Built an internal standardized PaaS platform using Kubernetes and open-source components including a fully automated Infrastructure-as-Code CI/CD cluster build pipeline and automation for developer productivity.

Designed, developed, and maintained various helpdesk automation systems to reduce turnaround time for common client requests from 2 weeks to 5 minutes and reduce helpdesk cost-per-transaction by over 25% over five years.Designed, developed, and supported a system to track network, server, and end user computing asset inventory across multiple business units throughout North America. The system tracks and helps manage all asset management processes from warehouse receipt, system deployment, electronic management system tracking, system refresh, disposal, billing, and lease return.Performed advanced Excel and SQL correlation and analysis of the computer inventory, electronic management systems, and leasing records to help provide business intelligence support for executive management.Designed, produced cost/time estimates for, and worked with a team of developers of varying disciplines to develop client requested software projects.

Planned, deployed, and maintained a completely managed Windows Active Directory environment for 75 computer systems spread across three physical sites. Planned, developed, and maintained a corporate intranet site using IIS 6.0, ASP.NET/C#, and SQL Server 2000. The system integrated with our legacy accounting system using SQL Server DTS jobs and integrated with Active Directory using a custom C# service. Served on the GD Lead Information Risk Management Team (LIRMT). Duties performed included:- Technical guidance on security policies and security best practices- Incident response for virus outbreaks, electronic attacks, disclosure of data, etc.- Vulnerability risk assessments of server systems using Nessus- Developed GPOs with custom ADM templates to implement/enforce CIS minimum baseline hardening standards on all internal servers and workstations
