I was given the opportunities to participate in many feasibility studies and presentations with potential clients, especially in the heat of en-bloc last year. On top of that, I took part in various local residential competitions. Of those, it was an honour to present a winning scheme. I was also honoured to be participating in an idea challenge for DubaiExpo 2020 SG Pavillion. Finally, I was able to participate and complete a pro-bono project e.g. child care centre from design to its completion.

I was given the opportunity to design for a project from start to its tender with a group of dedicated team. The job demanded a strong design and professional attitude for overseas clients. The projects include an high density high rise premium apartment for young aspiring professionals and a show-room units cum retail mall experience. At the core of the design is the unique concepts that narrate the design stories.

It was a great honour to be involved in the team that pioneered in the design for prefabricated prefinished volumetric construction (PPVC) for the authority BCA Singapore.

It was a great opportunity to be able to shape the bay of future reclaimed city of north Jakarta. The team I joined in was involved in masterplanning for a mega projects that would pioneer the skyline of new CBD in Jakarta. For a GFA of over 1 million sqm, this pinnacle of design spans a range of programmatic spaces from hotel, offices, retail, residential to recreation.

I was involved in design competition organised by Esplanade Theatre on the Bay to propose an RFP for Upper Foyer Space + Rooftop Garden to be turned into kids' PLAYbox.At the same time, I was on an upcoming project to research on green technology and sustainability architecture, especially in Singapore's context.

From 5 Dec to 10 Dec 2010, two students from Temasek Junior College and I, participated in Sunburst Youth Camp, organised by Singapore Technological Endowment Programme in collaboration with Temasek Holdings, to bridge connection among youths from Asia and build on the goodwill generated by their shared experience in Singapore. Prior to the camp, I had been through rigorous preparations with the rest of Singaporean participants, where I had the chance to listen to and exchange various ideas. During the camp, I was involved in Amazing Race across Singapore and Learning Journeys to Marina Barrage and Nanyang Technological Universities, together with his foreign friends. Outward Bound Singapore was also part of the package, where we built on resilience and perseverance.In the camp, marathoner Thaddeus taught me to be inspired, most importantly, dare to dream and let it fly. I also befriended participants from many countries, in which tears and laughers were shared together. I enjoyed learning new languages and his friends, to him, were inseparable. I was inspired most from my Bhutanese friend, who always brought joys to the camp. I was told to ‘live life with smiles and contentment’. Another takeaway from the camp would be people management as I tried my best to bring people together, especially the reserve ones.
