I have most recently been employed as the lead technical consultant at RMS (Scotland) Ltd, where I was responsible for dealing with customer enquiries, and managing the team. I was responsible for liaising with customers, external suppliers and contractors to ensure that the client’s needs were met from every angle, as well as scoping projects (both large and small).

I have been employed as a desktop support officer with NHS Lothian, where I was responsible for taking incoming calls and either dealing with them myself if it is a first time fix, or logging it to the correct department. The calls that come in are hugely varied from a simple password reset, to a PC not powering on, to dealing with a bespoke application, often in critical departments within the NHS.

I was also responsible for ensuring that SLA’s are met, prioritising client requests, and project managing new equipment for customers, from the quote stage through to installation. My work was split roughly 50/50 between Apple and Microsoft, including Windows and OSX Servers, as well as domain management, network setup and configuration, managing client email systems (both in house and in the cloud), and setting up new users. Within my role I was also responsible for installation and any repairs needed to hardware, and for configuring devices for users. Customer service played a large part in my role, ensuring that the customer is happy and that they feel they are getting good service and good value for money.
