As one of the Mechanical Engineers for one of the busiest engineering environments in the Royal Air Force, I am responsible, as part of an experienced team for the day-to-day maintenance of a substantial fleet of fixed wing aircraft and the associated inspection of vital components.Responsible for conducting tasks in support of aerobatic flight plans and maintaining a duty of care for the servicing of all equipment in a timely manner due to the high volume of operational throughput. Analysing Risk/COSHH Assessments in order to fulfill all duties in accordance with all relevant policies and legislations. Ensuring the team’s adherence to all laid out standards and awareness to Human Factors engineering reporting within a continuous improvement and ISO governed organisation. Duties & Responsibilities:• Diagnose complex faults from aircrew briefs, reporting as necessary to senior management and raising the necessary limitations paperwork and subsequent maintenance work orders in order to plan and manage daily taskings effectively.• Ensure that all specialist measurement equipment and test gauges are serviceable for use, managing aspects of calibration and replacing items as they expire.• Manage the correct use of tooling and comply with Military Aviation Procedures in regards to tool control measures.• Demonstrate leadership on all aspects of fault rectification, scheduled and out of phase maintenance in order to maintain operational effectiveness and airworthiness; forecasting subsequent maintenance activities as required.• Liaise with internal and external agencies and stakeholders in order to achieve KPIs set for the department.• Manage the procurement of all resources required for maintenance.

Carrying out varying aircraft maintenance activities on mechanical systems and vitally important installed components whilst being supervised for core competency assessments and subsequent promotion to Senior Aircraft Technician. I also removed/fitted and replaced where required, complex system components and ensured all scheduled and corrective maintenance was conducted in accordance with the relevant procedures.Employed as a front line engineer conducting all aspects of in-depth 1st Line maintenance activities and fault diagnosis for deep strip rectification engineering. Capable of deciphering technical drawings together with following computerised and written procedures to maintain aircraft supporting components.Regularly responsible for updating associated engineering documentation and data capturing software, communicating life cycles and scheduled maintenance data to allow for senior management to make informed decisions and prioritise against perceived shortfalls in business continuity; thus guaranteeing a speedy resolution to unserviceable asset issues and maintaining a tracking system for strategic technical planners to forecast and procure necessary replacement assets as required against the business needs of the organisation.Duties & Responsibilities:• Carry out removal, fault diagnosis, rectification, fitment and replacement on all mechanical system components.• Adhere to all current maintenance procedures and engineering orders.• Responsible for flight line servicing and the speedy turnaround of aircraft in preparation for subsequent flying schedules.• Comply with instructions received from engineering authorities, including the embodiment of modifications as required; enhancing efficiency of aircraft systems.• Carry out scheduled maintenance & functional testing of installed and un-installed aircraft components.• Manage the effective compilation of aircraft documentation and associated technical asset tracking systems.
