I have a broad knowledge of and interest in science, particularly physics. I like to solve problems by understanding the big picture. I learn new technologies quickly. I am creative. I recently co-invented a new rugged, vandal resistant, touch screen technology, for which I received three patents. I have patents for an ultrasonic sensor and motor control in a pump. I work well with others. I supervised a team of from 10 to 25 engineers, technicians, and writers in the design and construction of the electrical and hydraulic test equipment for the Titan Solid Rocket Motor Upgrade. I understand quality control and continuous product improvement. I was Product Engineer for enteral feeding pumps at ZEVEX. I redesigned several products to meet European requirements, reduce costs and increase performance. I am good at solving problems. At QSI I resolved a critical problem with a power-over-Ethernet power supply. I also found a creative way to solve a manufacturing yield problem by improving the signal conditioning for an optical end-of-form sensor. I can write well. I wrote an article about touch screens that was published in a national technical magazine. I am a licensed Amateur Radio Operator AE7NM. I am doing a little public service and emergency communications preparedness. I recently became accredited with the ARRL VEC as a Voluntary Examiner (VE) so that I can help with FCC Ham license examination classes. I am a BSA merit badge councellor for Radio, Electricity, Electronics, and inventing merit badges. I occasionally teach merit badge classes.

I designed analog signal conditioning circuits and integrated the analog signals with digital signal processing hardware, I developed firmware algorithms for determining the touch location. Vissumo was discontinued in April of 2009.
