Developed the architecture vision for a $1B claims processing client's contact center operations including first notice of loss, nurse triage, and provider relations. As Ascension’s first Chief Enterprise Architect (EA) Dave grew the team from 2 to 7 resources, established technology standards management, reference architecture and business blueprinting services. As Chief Enterprise Architect for Ascension Information Services I was responsible for building the Ascension-wide Enterprise Architecture practice. My responsibilities included defining enterprise-wide business and technology capabilities, managing technology standards, championing business driven strategic planning/roadmapping for areas such as Population Health and standing up enterprise-wide data governance.

After PwC's acquisition of Diamond, I led PwC’s Enterprise Architecture Capability, being responsible for enhancing PwC’s Enterprise Architecture frameworks, recruiting, career path, and community. I also helped define PwC's global approach to Strategic Planning. I worked with domestic and global architects to define how enterprise architecture methods and models support the development of multi-year transformation roadmaps. - Designed a distributed security subsystem as part of a team working with Microsoft to build a new distributed operating system for PC platforms. Wrote the design specification for this subsystem. - Designed and taught seminars on IBM OS/2 Database Manager and LAN Requester/Server. Developed IBM Database Manager software demonstrations of these products using C, embedded and dynamic SQL, and Presentation Manager. Provided individual customer consultations during customer visits and trade shows.- Led technical team for development of several IBM PC LAN Program releases. Designed and implemented several performance enhancements to the requester and server portions of the product. Received an IBM Informal Award for work performed on this project.- Owner of the IBM 5520 Base Feature Install microprocessor-based initialization function, acquiring a key understanding of client/server technology. Received an IBM Informal Award for my work on the 5520.
