As a lawyer, I’ve always looked for interesting and unchartered areas to direct my energies. Thirty years ago, it was China and I was super lucky to build a career there from corporate lawyer, advising multinational corporations on legal and commercial aspects of investing and doing business in China. I helped established over 200 foreign invested enterprises in China, mostly in the high-tech field. I then went in-house as General Counsel at Microsoft China and moved from there to create one of Beijing’s first co-working spaces, incubator and new media art space in Beijing's 798 District. After 30 years in China, it was time for me to leave and I’ve been really pleased to have a smooth relocation to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Found a great space to rival what I had in Beijing (so much easier to have a swimming pool in the ground, rather than elevated off it) - and I’ve been very lucky to continue my interest in blockchain technology, where I got my first taste of it at the Ethereum Foundation in 2016. Building on that interest, I’ve been acting as an adviser to a number of start-up companies and am super lucky to have run into the team at Pundi X. Fate? Well, I first met the CEO of Pundi X, Zac Cheah in 2015 when he wandered into Yuanfen~Flow. I’ve been working with Pundi X for the past several months, advising them pre-public token sale. I’m glad it made sense to the team to bring me on board as their Chief Legal Counsel, because it certainly makes sense to me. They’re a great team with a powerful vision — and the talent and commitment to execute on that vision — to bring cryptocurrency to the masses. Through their XPOS device and a great platform, I do believe Pundi X will be in the forefront of “normalizing” cryptocurrency usage by consumers and merchants. I'm originally from Denver, Colorado.
