Conduct confidential, project-based opposition research and strategic communications work for a variety of clients.

TCP is an investor-led firm working to connect Dallas and Houston in under 90 minutes via a Japanese-style “Shinkansen” bullet train system. This private-sector, free-market venture would be built without any local, state, or federal government grants for construction or taxpayer subsidies for operations.Provided strategic research and communications counsel on all matters impacting public opinion of the project. Directly engaged with elected-officials and their senior staff, as well as civic leaders, community stakeholders, and members of the general public and media along the entire corridor—urban, suburban, and rural. Tip-of-the-spear leadership responsibility for opposition management. Provided strategic research to colleagues across work-streams, including ROW acquisition, legal counsel, public relations consultants, social media team, and lobbyists at the local, state, and federal level. Core team member and methodological authority concerning the design, execution, and analysis of public opinion research conducted on behalf of the project. Served as a key, senior team member in the research and development of marketing, branding, advertising, and messaging strategies in anticipation of railroad operations.

Reporting directly to the district attorney, provided high-stakes communications counsel to the chief law enforcement officer of the third-largest county in the nation. Personally executed both reactive/crisis and proactive/high-profile messaging strategies. Entrusted with confidential information concerning ongoing investigations and sensitive prosecutorial deliberations. Crafted original grant application that successfully secured $1.7 million in state funding to develop the Texas Anti-Gang (TAG) tactical operations center. Direct liaison with elected officials and senior staff at other government agencies, as well as civic leaders and community stakeholders.

Provided strategic guidance to senatorial, congressional, gubernatorial, and ballot initiative campaigns, in addition to corporate, trade association and public affairs clients. Designed, managed, executed, analyzed and presented quantitative survey, qualitative focus group, policy and opposition research strategies and findings. Previously held position from August 2000 to May 2004. Following a July 2009 company-wide reorganization, continued as an independent-affiliate working on special-projects.

Researched issues & briefed opinion-leading talk-show hosts, substituting on-air in their absence. Built relationships with policy analysts, activists, and elected officials. Conducted & reported original investigative research under the pressure of long hours, tight deadlines, high-profile scrutiny and a breaking news environment. Previously held position (as part of KSEV 700 - KPRC 950 "Super-Talk" format) from November 1996 to August 2000, for a combined total of five years, seventh months full-time in this capacity.
