Incubating emerging technologies, products, partnerships and markets is what I love doing for a living. I have been very blessed to be an early adopter of AI, Edge computing, IoT, DevOps and Cloud, across multiple industries. It was a lot of fun, but there was always an inner voice repeatedly asking:• What if we applied all this tech to solve a real meaningful, humankind problem? To do good?• What is the most fundamental thing everyone needs, that without it, all the rest is a lower priority?• What do I want to spend my next 25+ years on, that can potentially benefit future generations to come?HEALTH is my WHY! Without health there is no joy, purpose or dreams to realize. It's the beginning of any journey. With a special passion for helping diagnose, treat and prevent cancer.Great... now:• What does that mean and where can I add value?• What does global impact look like, and who has the ability to actually do something about it?• Where can I find a group of amazing people with the same drive, values and relentless commitment to make a difference?• How can we help the healthcare industry to innovate faster, now when it's needed the most?NVIDIA has been the perfect answer for me. :)What we are building in Project MONAI (https://monai.io/) and the Clara Healthcare team is the most unbelievable initiative I could find out there. Becoming the catalyst across the healthcare industry to help them adopt AI and bringing it from research to clinical use. Collaborating with academic medical institutions, medical instrument companies, biopharma companies, AI healthcare marketplaces, cloud providers and open source initiatives on different modalities and domains like medical imaging, genomics, drug discovery and smart hospitals, is a dream come true. Imagine the future of global healthcare, powered by AI, based on open, transparent, honest, private, and safe principles. Sounds great, doesn't it? Let's build it together! :DP.S. The views and opinions expressed in this account are those of my own and do not represent those of my employer, NVIDIA

Sr. Product Manager - Imaging Ai PlatformsNvidia Jun 2020 - Sep 2023Santa Clara, Ca, UsAI model development is by now a mature discipline, thanks to techniques like Generative AI, Assisted Annotation (AIAA), and Supervised, Self-supervised (SSL) and Federated Learning (FL), provided by collaborations with the leading medical research organizations on initiatives like project MONAI and FLARE. But once those models are ready for prime, how to put them in production at scale, with the right medical priorities, accelerated with GPUs to get the best PERF at inferencing is not a well defined problem. Even when the model has been properly served, acquiring the right data from medical imaging systems like PACS over DICOM, segment, classify and come up with the right predictions and masks is sort of an art today. And you still have to view the results with the right resolution and quality, and connect with the right systems to act upon their predictions. Finally, assuming you managed to figure out how to do all that, chances are you want to refine your model over time improving its precision, based on rapid changing conditions. How do you close that loop and start again, faster and faster over time? That is the virtuous lifecycle that leads to medical AI continuous learning and sustained rapid innovation. This is what our Imaging AI Platforms are all about, built on MONAI and enterprise supported by NVIDIA, running hybrid multi-cloud. We are creating the building blocks so everyone can benefit from accelerated AI and the best performance GPUs can offer. The more PERF, the more models, experiments, tests and results you can get, faster. That makes all the difference in the world when you are trying to solve hard use cases on early diagnosis, drug discovery or genomics. NVIDIA aspires to be the catalyst across a broad ecosystem of developers, customers, partners and communities helping them reuse, expand and build upon until they are clinically ready. The road to precision medicine has barely started. Come join us! Let's build it together! :) -
Monai Deploy & Stream Working Groups Co-Chair • Advisory BoardProject Monai Nov 2020 - PresentThe Medical Open Network for AI (MONAI) (https://monai.io/) is a freely available, community-supported, PyTorch-based open-source framework for Deep Learning (DL) in healthcare imaging. It provides domain-optimized foundational capabilities for developing healthcare medical imaging and digital pathology training and deployment workflows. The Deployment and inference WG (https://github.com/Project-MONAI/MONAI/wiki/Deploy-Working-Group) is composed of 30+ rockstars among institutions like Mayo Jacksonville, Mayo Rochester, Mass General Brigham (MGB), Stanford, Harvard, UCSF, Vanderbilt U. and MSKCC in the US; KCL and GSTT in the UK; and DKFZ in Germany, among others. This Working Group (WG) aims to define how to close the existing gap from Research and Development to Clinical Production environments. Some of these challenges include:* Develop and package trained AI models into deployable applications (MONAI Deploy App SDK & MAPs - MONAI Application Packages)* Lightweight inference for local testing and validation (MONAI Deploy Express)* Healthcare specific AI orchestration, deployment, serving and inference across multiple accelerated compute nodes. (MONAI Deploy Informatics Gateway and Workflow Manager)* Consume multi-modal data pipelines, starting with medical imaging, DICOM-based first, digital pathology and patient data coming from EHR next.I co-chair the WG with Haris Shuaib from GSTT NHS Trust in the UK, and Selnur Erdal Barbados from the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, US. -
Chief Architect Ai • Edge • Iot SolutionsRed Hat Mar 2019 - Jun 2020Raleigh, Nc, UsEnd-to-end analytics is where data pipelines, distributed systems, applications, functions (FaaS) and microservices blend together in a true open hybrid cloud model. Pushing best of breed of cloud-native computing as far to the edge and as close to where real-time data is being generated, unlocks the next generation of digital transformation. The more a data-driven organization a company can become and the more meaningful business logic can be executed at the edge with close to no latency, the fastest they will be able to react to fast changing conditions. Ensuring DevOps and Agile principles are being adopted is the key factor to innovate, experiment and arrive at the best possible solution, before it is too late.Building upon the IoT foundation, Red Hat expanded its emerging technologies practice to incubate the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Edge computing businesses. As the Chief Architect, I was part of Red Hat's corporate AI and Edge Initiative Leadership Team (ILTs), building the technical strategy and ecosystems, while leading our strategic partnerships in those solution areas. I became the bridge between business leaders and technologists, teaming all up together to achieve a joint, common vision, making sure that what we built together had a clear GTM model to bring new incremental revenue streams through solving real customer’s business problems.Within the last 6 months before leaving Red Hat to pursue my passion in healthcare, I was honored to received the Presidents Club 2020 award, and being part of Red Hat Summit 2020 CTO keynote team.Public speaker at: * Red Hat Summit Boston 2019 -
