As a Senior Analyst with the Education Advisory Board's Advancement Forum, I am researching how divisions of student affairs assist students and professional staff in their use of social media to build a positive digital identity. This research comes after completing two best-practice studies on crowdfunding and social media fundraising and responding to students of concern through behavioral intervention teams.

As an Analyst with the Education Advisory Board's Advancement Forum, I am researching how institutions can create a culture of giving among students and young alumni. My research draws on literature reviews, web searches, and interviews with advancement professionals across the United States and Canada. After spending approximately 9 months evaluating breakthrough practices to share with our members, the project will culminate in a book-length publication as well as presentations to advancement professionals.

As a Custom Research Associate, I conduct short-term research projects for member colleges and universities with questions relating to academic affairs, finance/administration, and student affairs. The resulting research briefs include information gathered from interviews with peer institutions and from web-based exploration.

The Academic Plan Steering Committee is charged with creating a 10 year strategic plan for UNC's academic priorities, programs, and policies. I conduct academic and administrative policy research for the Steering Committee while also managing the Committee's scheduling, communication, and logistical needs. My work involves close collaboration with university leaders such as the Provost, the Executive Associate Provost, the Dean of Students, and other faculty and staff leaders.

As Vice-President of the Student Body, my primary responsibilities involved chairing the Student Advisory Committee to the Chancellor, appointing over 100 students to University faculty and administrative committees, and assisting cabinet committees as they pursued their goals. I focused much of my energy on educational and administrative policy, press relations, and inter-organizational collaboration on campus.

I assisted the Morehead-Cain Foundation by researching the contributions of their Scholars to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The short-term position involved collaboration with the Executive and Associate Directors of the Morehead-Cain Foundation to determine the most pertinent information for its internal and external uses.

The VP for Policy Research oversees the work of the Roosevelt Institute's policy research centers. This involves promoting policy writing and publication, high quality research, campus engagement, community involvement, and leadership development. As VP, I oversaw 7 policy centers and assisted their members and directors as they pursued innovative solutions to difficult policy issues.
