MIT has a broad range of support for entrepreneurs. After about 10 years mentoring teams at the Venture Mentoring Service, I have turned my attention to MIT's Sandbox incubator. The difference is that the Sandbox provides some modest funding for their teams and attracts more "serious" entrepreneurs. Both VMS and Sandbox advise anyone connected to MIT on any business or entrepreneurial idea they may have. I have mentored on everything from wind turbines on balloons to high tech underwear, but mostly focused on business oriented software. The entrepreneurs are great, the ideas are outrageous, and the meetings are hilarious. It's a gas.
