Dr. Bonnet was recruited by UH’s Chief Transformation Office Peter Pronovost to drive high reliability medicine in order to facilitate maximum value - both clinical and financial - for any and every patient UH serves. In this role, Dr. Bonnet has delivered over $25 million in value creation annually in addition to winning both state and national quality awards. This is accomplished by building teams and relationships, breaking down silos, introducing industry best practices, driving consensus by aligning people and processes around similar goals, and developing a culture of accountability and performance management to drive superior outcomes across the entire patient continuum of care (including inpatient/outpatient, medicine/surgery, academic/community and acute/post-acute).

Sound Physicians is a $2.2 billion, mid-sized, private equity majority-owned national hospitalist staffing company that was a subsidiary of United Health Care and Summit Investment Partners. Dr. Bonnet was recruited to Sound when he caught the interest of the Sound's CMO while presenting at a TMA strategy meeting, and who eventually hired him as one of Sound’s first regional medical directors. Starting in Central Texas, Dr. Bonnet grew his business from 4 contracts and 42 FTEs to approximately 13 programs and 200 FTEs across all of Texas and oversaw the creation and delivery of individualized strategies to help clients in multiple health systems achieve transformational and sustainable improvement in both clinical and financial metrics. After four years, Dr. Bonnet was promoted to Associate Chief Medical Officer to a seven-state region in the Midwest to where in addition to the previous responsibility in driving quality care delivery in hospital medicine, he added emergency medicine and critical-care medicine service lines. Overall, Dr. Bonnet was responsible in total for 550+ clinicians and physician leaders, $200 million dollars in operating revenues, as well as an additional $130 million dollars in managed risk.

Baylor Scott and White Health is a 48-hospital, $7.9 billion, fully integrated not-for-profit health system located throughout Texas. In addition to Dr. Bonnet’s clinical duties as a full-time hospitalist, Dr. Bonnet had leadership roles in EMR implementation (Epic), development of acute to post-acute transition program, and clinical documentation accuracy (program drove $72M in savings) as well as serve as full-time clinical faculty and residency ombusdsman.

With over a 150 year history of quality patient care in Northeast Ohio, Dr. Bonnet joined UH out of residency - first as a private practitioner for five years in the ambulatory internal medicine space, and subsequently joining the hospitalist group that he admitted to. Later, Dr Bonnet became the director of that group at two of the facilities it served. With experience in risk management, P&L management, clinical quality processes, and clinical management of both acute care and critical care patients, Dr. Bonnet appreciated working with an incredible team of physician and nursing leaders to help clinically integrate newly acquired hospitals by the University Hospitals Health system.

Dr. Bonnet developed an internal medicine practice from zero to several thousand patients in one year, primarily due to positive word-of-mouth and high patient satisfaction.

Dr. Bonnet completed his Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency at the MetroHealth System in Cleveland, and he is proud to have started his medicine career at this outstanding mission-driven, safety-net healthcare organization dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of the citizens of Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
