I participated in: creating schedules, updating and managing over 50 computers, participating in panel interviews, training new applicants, and testing new software implementations prior to roll-out. In addition, I was able to meet good friends and colleagues, and I helped foster employee satisfaction and relationships with optional after work Taco Tuesdays and Game Nights. After my promotion, I worked very hard to provide incentive for consultants to meet outside of work and develop friendships. In time, we acted more like friends than co-workers. Results were clearly positive in that tasks were done more efficiently, and our corporate culture was more enjoyable. At times, consultants would drop by to say hello between classes.
