I was a field examiner for 21 years, performing collateral audits and special projects in a very diverse range of industries. As a field examiner, I was required to perform a full review of a Company's books and records encompassing 1-2 years of activity, as well as performing a review of controls and security when applicable; usually all within one week. Each completed examination included a written report, as well as supporting schedules in summary and detail, and recommendations to improve controls and reporting as necessary. I've developed very strong problem solving, management, and time management skills, which were required in order to effectively perform in this capacity at the required pace. Also, as a liaison for the bank/financial institution that engaged us for the examination, I developed a strong ability for learning complex concepts, and simplifying them in a manner so that they could be conveyed clearly either verbally or in written form. I possess very strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for learning and working with others successfully. I developed a knack for "learning the language" of each new Company quickly and effectively communicating with their employees, at times managing the client's personnel during various stages of the examination process, including, but not limited to, all A/R and inventory testing and cycle counting. I've been involved in various special projects as well (Physical Inventories, Liquidations, Receiverships, etc.) managing my own staff as well as Company employees in order to accomplish the task in an accurate and timely fashion.
