Recruited to lead development and implementation of maintenance related projects for the country’s only major shorthaul, low-fare, high frequency, point-to-point carrier. Oversees nine employees, serves at the project management level and assumes director level accountabilities. Prepares project timelines, manages resources and provides reporting. Works closely with Directors, Managers, Supervisors and other cross-functional departments and serves as contact for outside vendors. Responsible for all Next Generation Maintenance Automation initiatives

Took on operational, tactical and strategic planning for the Maintenance and Engineering Department’s 350 aircraft fleet. Supervised a staff of 40, arranged training programs, issued evaluations and executed recommendations of Team Leaders. Collaborated with other departments to integrate maintenance philosophy into daily operations and worked closely with Maintenance Control, Dispatch, Production and Stores management to ensure regulatory compliance. Developed forecasts and made recommendations on manpower, facilities, aircraft acquisition and maintenance procedures. Accepted advancement to manage Southwest Airlines fleet operations and tasked with providing continually airworthy and on-time aircraft. Coordinated resource allocation for scheduled, unscheduled and emergency maintenance including outstation repair; provided technical expertise to company and contract mechanics; issued tracking numbers; and approved the continued operation of aircraft with certain inoperative items as approved by the Southwest Airlines Minimum Equipment List and Maintenance Program.
