We live in an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous world. Education and the myriad of organizations that deliver and support it can be powerful catalysts for change, as educational experiences offer promise to transform individuals, communities, and societies by promoting progress, innovation, and positive social change. But such progress is not without its complexity. Multiple stakeholders have different perceptions of both wants and needs as well as priorities. Countries around the globe are conscious of both the accelerating rate of change and the widening "skills gaps", yet successful cost-effective solutions have been slow to materialize and difficult to scale. Companies, both large and small, are desperate for skilled workers, yet are increasingly challenged with how to attract, develop and retain their people. Educational organization at both the K-12 and higher education levels, struggle with increasing costs, multiple delivery methods, the role of technology and successfully managing a positive rate of innovation and adoption. Students are aware of global opportunities and an increasing array of educational providers but have difficulty navigating these choices to select an educational experience that meets their unique needs and provides an acceptable and timely pathway to success and returns on their investment.
