Strategic Sourcing Leader (Jun '00 - Feb '01)• Responsible for formulating sourcing strategies and coordinating their implementation across 29 different manufacturing sites.• Managed the strategic sourcing of corrugated, paint, office products, packaging, MRO and chemicals.• Negotiated $50 million dollar MRO contract with guaranteed minimum savings of $5 million when fully implemented and an additional $2.5 million savings each year.Commodity Manager, Hoffman Enclosures subsidiary, (Aug '98 - Jun '00)• Responsible for sourcing decisions, price agreements for five North American plants producing electronic enclosures. Commodities included paint, chemicals, gaskets, packaging and instruction manuals. Accomplishments included reducing supplier base in the above areas from 98 to 25, reducing price by as much as 40%, and streamlining delivery and order processes.• Implemented and coordinated cost improvements in materials. 1999 cost savings were $1.5 million on an annual spend of $13.8 million.Supplier Logistics Planner, Hoffman Enclosures subsidiary, (Nov '97 - Aug '98)• Worked on Pentair corporate program for corporate cost reduction. Negotiated a series of contracts throughout the company that saved $2.6 million - over 25% of the total spend.• Duties included reading and interpreting MRP, placing purchase orders, scheduling deliveries and expediting. Reduced lead times from supplier by providing forecasts and inventory reports.• Accomplishments include putting corrugated in a point-of-use system that reduced lead-time from two weeks to five hours while eliminating stock outs and reducing inventory to a fraction of its previous level. Set up system of visual inventory for metal stampings that eliminated expediting and inventory outages without increasing inventory. Simplified reordering system with roll form supplier that reduced lead-time from six weeks to one.
