I have been passionate about leading a life where I can help people. Initially that meant studying Psychology with the intent to become a Psychologist, however like most things, life planned a different course for me. As a Life Insurance Adviser, I have found my niche, as I am able to help many people, each with a different and unique story. I have worked as a Life Insurance Adviser at Halstead Financial Services since 2012 and am a member of the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA) and as of 2024, have qualified as a Member of the MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table). At Halstead Financial Services, our specialty is providing advice on protecting our clients' most valuable asset: their ability to earn income, and making sure that all future plans and aspirations that involve money can still be achieved if the unexpected happens. By unexpected, we mean Death, or a Major Illness such as Cancer, Heart attack, Stroke, Major Surgery etc, or a medium term disability that prevents a person to carry out his or her normal work activities with subsequent adverse financial consequences. Providing appropriate advice from the adviser's perspective, making the right decisions on the advice received from the consumer's perspective is an awesome responsibility at both ends. You see, once a claim is made on Income Protection, Trauma, Life, or Total and Permanent Disablement Insurance, the claimant cannot then decide to increase the benefits payable. The product is not a refrigerator that can be sent back to the shop for an exchange or a refund (with a smile) when we realise that it is too large or too small or the door opens on the wrong side. Life insurance products need to be assessed correctly, of course taking into consideration affordability issues. We deal with people and relationships, not products. Every person and their situation is unique, and as such there is no one size fits all solution.
