Tamarack Taproom is a food, and beverage establishment focused on unique and handcrafted food and beverages. By sourcing the best in craft beer, craft cocktails, and craft wines, we entertain a market that has been growing by billions of dollars a year. At Tamarack Taproom, the food is locally and regionally sourced with a local street fare taste and is fresh and vibrant, handcrafted and is Chef Driven. Our Tagline is; A doctor, a lawyer and an accountant walk into a bar…While our humble beginnings may sound like a good joke. What my 13 partners and I helped bring to Woodbury is amazing.

CoalitionNC provides an integrated treatment & training program for men that mobilizes people from homelessness to working, self-supporting members of society. The program is coupled with a staffing agency that not only provides jobs but funding for the program. Program participants (clients) have mental health and substance abuse counseling and training in life skills and job placement. CoalitionNC provides housing and meals for clients in the program while also helping heal, educate, and train them for employment. The program is up to 12 months in length but continues with aftercare that provides support and encouragement for a lifetime.

Coalition is being born out of necessity that in the Triangle of North Carolina, as it is in much of the country, there is a growing epidemic of those experiencing homelessness and re-entry issues into mainstream society after incarceration that is leaving many without a chance. I have spent the last 14 months at the Raleigh Rescue Mission piloting a new program that is focused on transforming lives. Coalition will serve as a job training organization for the hospitality industry. I also realized that the hospitality industry that I love and have spent the last forty-two years is experiencing its lack of hope. There are not enough employees to fill all the openings in the industry. So I asked himself, “What if we could match those in need of employment with those in need of employees? And so birthed Coalition! Coalition’s plan is not only to fund the internal training and programs for two hundred men and women every year as a 501c3, but also to meet the needs of local non-profits that are working directly on homelessness, generational poverty, and re-entry into mainstream society after incarceration. All profits will be given away! Social enterprise will be at the heart of our work.

I work to bring companies, individuals and organization to the table of understanding that there can be a way to end homelessness in adults and before to begins to take hold in children.

Director of operations as a third-party management company for three Twin Cities Embassy Suites Hotels also oversaw four free-stand restaurants I have implemented purchasing programs for other necessities, reducing variable costs on those products by over $100,000 a year.Designed and executed successful marketing campaigns for the bar, restaurant and banquet departments.I served as both Project Manager and General Contractor for five restaurant, two bar, and four meeting room renovations.Assisted in the acquisition and renovation of the hotel gift shop, successfully re-branding it with a ‘Grab-n-Go’ concept.

Managed the entire hotel food and beverage operation for the Holiday Inn Ardenhills Mn. leading sales growth to over $2.8 million annually.Oversaw the completion of construction and planned the grand opening of McGuire’s Grille restaurant.Increased sales by 30%, pushing food and beverage profits from 14% - 30% in an eighteen month period.Improved Guest Service Tracking Scores (GSTS) from the lower fiftieth percentile to the mid-eighties.Established employee-centric programs to improve associate satisfaction and boost productivity.
