An incredibly diverse and challenging project to support a long-established independent department store with over 130 years trading that more recently had struggled to keep pace with the rapidly changing retail climateAt the outset my remit had three very clear strategic goals1. Complete a financial restructure of the company and propose a CVA Following an analysis of all finances and in particular the op-ex, I spearheaded a multi-faceted cost reduction programme. This included in the main, a reduction in the trading footprint, renegotiation of all services & suppliers and a round of redundancies. With the support of an IP firm I took the company into CVA that crystallized in November 20202. Conclude on a property deal on the rear of the site to a developer Brokered the introduction of an investor to the landlords that culminated in a successful multi-million pound STP property deal being exchanged in Nov 20213. Turn around the retail fortunes of this much-loved department storeSadly, given the gruelling retail climate over the COVID pandemic this was simply a step to far and as such I proposed to the board that we closed the store and from that point I managed a controlled sale of all assets and closure of the retail business

Following the acquisition of Glimpse Analytics by Firebolt Group in August 2022 I support the original team of founders and drive operational excellence. This addition of Glimpse to the Firebolt group compliments Firebolt's strategy to become a leader in connected brand artefacts and integrated brand tracking platforms operating within the experience economy.

Within this function, I showcased my entrepreneurial passion when identifying a gap in the market, which led to the setup and launch of a 12,000 sq. ft. indoor trampoline park.I lead this business from the conceptual stages through to launch, driving its success to ultimately achieve a turnover of £1.3m.Highlights from my role include:• Researched, reviewed feasibility, funding and sourcing followed by launch of the enterprise • Oversaw the build, installation and pre-launch activities; directed launch on the day• Proved strong financial acuity when delivering in line with a £0.9m budget• Built and developed a team of 10 plus external consultants, grew the team to 55 personnel pre-launch• Drove the health and safety approach along with the risk appetite, designing and implementing the H&S policy as well as SOPs• Proved H&S policies were successful, when negotiating a lower insurance premium, £46k (year 2) to £30k (year 3)• Successfully sold the business after three years of trading

Through my role, I directed the development and execution of an intricate solution design for the bank.Highlights from my role include:• Drove the review and analysis of customer data to better understand the relationship between the bank and its customer• Re-engineered the customer communication methodology, replacing an archaic process with streamlined letter suite• Directed a newly-formed team of 6, grew the team to 30 to cope with project scope • Managed a budget of £40m, ensuring delivery in line with financial constraints

During this period, I engaged in a plethora of recruitment projects as follows:Resourcing Manager (Amadeus IT Ltd)Here, I standardised the company’s recruitment and HR functions, supporting the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures. I was ultimately accountable for all UK technical and commercial recruitment during my tenure.Specialist Recruiter (Intelligent Environments)I was hand-picked to drive the success of all onsite recruitment initiatives, including management and development of all recruitment and internal people processes across the UK.Specialist Recruiter (CheckPoint Software)During this post, I developed and embedded the Enterprise, Channel and Service Provider teams in the UK. I also implemented key processes, to identify and recruit the most appropriate candidates for UK RSD and UK MD roles.Lead Recruiter (BMC)I managed all recruitment elements which included headhunting of senior sales candidates. During my tenure, I outlined, selected and managed the PSL, as well as standardising the recruitment process and generating MI for Sales Management and HR teams.Resourcing Manager (The Chemistry Group)I conducted in-depth analysis and assessment of candidates, researching Intellect, Values, Motivation, Behaviours and ExperienceSpecialist Recruiter (Brocade Communications)Here, I led the identification and sourcing of 90 heads across EMEA. In addition, I built, managed and motivated a team of 7 to deliver the requirement in 90 days on time and within budget.
