I’m a highly experienced and focussed senior manager and director, with a diverse skill set.With a successful background as a communications consultant, campaign leader and advisor, I've also accumulated board-level experience across several companies in other sectors, and can therefore contribute with strategy, compliance, market research and general business matters. Happy to follow up opportunities for non-executive director positions, communications consultancy, brand strategy/advisory work and input on issues, crisis communications and similar engagements. Also open to collaboration and new business ventures and would consider advisory work for genuine good causes on a pro-bono basis.BioUpon completing my secondary education at St Aloysius College, a Jesuit school, I started helping out at a family-owned ad agency, BPC in the late 1970s. Started my first degree in Business Management at the University of Malta in 1982. Back then this was a five-year degree on a student/worker basis, this proved invaluable, allowing me to get a grasp of commercial realities and pragmatic aspects of business. Furthering my professional studies with a Masters’ Degree in Marketing at the University of Lancaster in 1988 was another game changer. Then, eager for a bigger challenge, I then joined Ferrero as advertising manager at their newly set up plant in Belgium, where I worked on launch campaign, briefing agencies in London, Torino and Luxembourg. I re-joined BPC, initially as Account Director (blue-chip names and listed entities), going on to become Managing Director. Privileged to have worked with great clients in various sectors. Combining deep-rooted consumer insights with a pragmatic hands-on approach, I’ve worked extensively on crafting messaging and campaign narratives for sensitive campaigns and assignments in both public and private sectors, and also advised on public relations, media relations and public affairs.Malta-based, BPC’s outlook was never Malta-bound, and over the past couple of decades I have also been involved with projects and campaigns in Libya, Cyprus, and the wider region. I’ve also contributed at senior level to other entities, like the University of Malta (Council member); the Malta Employers’ Association (Council member); the Malta Chapter of the International Advertising Association (Executive Council member); and Beacon Media Group Limited (served as Director on the Board).
