Since 8/2015 - (as Sr. Technical Manager) Manage a distributed "DevOps" team providing data services for Turner Brands with an emphasis on ETL, profile management, and blended data sources. Focus on "schemaless" data and blending varied data sets, sources and resolving conflicting data elements. Coordinating development among onshore, offshore, and vendor resources.Since 6/2011 - 8/2015 (as Technical Manager) Manage data/messaging team for B2C/Audience communications for Turner brands. Coordinate architecture and operations to best align with enterprise direction and technology choices.Since 4/2009 - 6/2011 (as Team Lead) Coordinate operations for the Campaign Management team for all Turner B2C messaging. Monitor and ensure progress on projects for this group. Verify service levels, priorities and staff allocations for ongoing projects. Continue supporting sports marketing efforts directly.Until 4/2009 -> As a Senior Engineer, I worked with the Campaign Management team that supports all non-corporate outbound mail for TBS (cnn.com, NASCAR.com, pgatour.com...). I spent most of my time supporting these business processes by troubleshooting delivery issues, vendor management, SQL (Oracle) and Perl/Python/Shell scripting on a mix of Solaris, Linux and Windows servers. I also worked with some industry specific proprietary tools such as Omniture.

I started as an L2 at Ciphertrust - supporting the Ironmail SMTP proxy appliance. It is a hardened BSD OS with custom processes for spam detection/policy enforcement. That position required in-depth knowledge of SMTP (including using tcpdump to track down unusual issues), DNS, HTTP, encryption (SSH and SSL), POP, SQL and FTP. I became the primary contact in support for LDAP issues which usually involved Active Directory - so I got a good dose of work with AD and other related processes such as ADAM. After being promoted to L3 I spent most of my time training engineers/customers and handling escalations. Ciphertrust had boxes in some of the largest global networks, so this was a pretty demanding job.

Responsible for building and maintaining all Linux and Windows based Intel servers including Apache, Microsoft FrontPage, Sendmail, Postfix, FTP, Bind, and QMail servers. Maintain and troubleshoot Cisco 36xx and 26xx routers. Configure, install and troubleshoot the following systems serving 10 to 15 thousand users/accounts for managed networks.
