About David Brown

We have a saying at TechBrite – “Don’t be sorry, be better.” Continuous improvement is a cornerstone of my work as COO, whether as an organization or personally. PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUNDWhen my partner and I decided to purchase the company, we knew we needed to establish processes in every aspect of the company – essentially, we were a 30 year-old start-up. We worked diligently to elevate the company’s reputation and bring financial rigor and stability. As the COO, I touch on every aspect of our operations, organization and culture, financial management, product development, and business development. I am proud of our exponential revenue growth and consistent operating margin performance. During my tenure, we've adopted lean manufacturing principles, reduced labor costs, achieved stellar on-time and error-free delivery metrics, and pioneered the design of over 1000 new products. Before acquiring TechBrite, I held several positions and Sprint Corporation and their spinoff, Embarq. I cut my teeth in public relations, marketing, and strategic pricing.LEADERSHIP STYLEI believe the job of a leader is to be your best and help others to be their best. I believe change begins in a vision and the leader’s job is to paint the vision for all to see. I believe in dreaming of big things but dreams are made by executing on the little things. I am objective, logical, and rigorous in problem-solving. I'm adept at peeling the layers back until, gradually, the root cause or causes are revealed. Then I work tirelessly to create solutions that are pragmatic and sustainable. Combined with my analytical nature is my ability to put myself in other shoes. Some of the incremental improvements of note: • Spearhead best practice operating processes to elevate the company's reputation and financial stability resulting in over substantial revenue growth and consistent operating margin since company purchase.• Conducted fit-gap reviews and analyzed manufacturing processes. Directed new processes and software implementation to increase yield, eliminate out-of-stock materials, and track inventory availability.• Built the foundation for moving from ~50% on-time and error-free delivery to achieving 97%+. Instituted key performance indicators (KPIs) and measures of success (MOS) to guarantee sustainable execution.•Pioneered the introduction of more than 1,000 new products. Led prototyping, regulatory and safety approval, and launch processes.
