Managed the Woodstock office of Brooks and Muir, Ontario Land Surveyors

I am managing the new Woodstock office for NA Engineering and Geomatics. I am also bringing my drone and data processing experience to the company to build capability in remote sensing using drones and various Lidar technologies.

Strata Aerial Surveys uses an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) to perform low-level aerial photography and topographic surveys of land. It provides superior quality imagery, precise earth elevation models and detailed topographic maps and drawings faster, and for a lower cost than has been possible before.I manage all business operations, including:* Business Development* Transport Canada flight permits and notices* Interactions with clients and the public* UAV operations and maintenance* Perform ortho-photo and point cloud generation, feature extraction

As a self-employed consultant, I am continuing to provide information management and workflow automation services to the land surveying community. These services include process documentation and optimization, iterative development of best practices and creating software to support these activities. I am also involved in a broad-based research project investigating the impact of a survey-grade digital cadastre on survey office operations and the use of a cadastre as a decision support tool.

The vision of the Ontario Digital Cadastre Corporation (ODCC) is to enable the creation and maintenance of a province-wide cadastre, where the survey profession has the responsibility of delivering and integrating the updates into the repository. The ODCC is in the business of discovering opportunities for surveyor’s data that will generate immediate and ongoing revenue from traditional and non-traditional clients, ultimately leading to the emergence of a surveyor built and maintained cadastre. The ODCC plays a role in the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive, province-wide survey record index and repository, the management of intellectual property concerns, the management of licensing and contracts and the creation of the platform upon which the repository is maintained, enhanced and from which data is delivered to the client.I am responsible for building this business into a successful organization. I was the Senior Information Management Specialist at AquaResource Inc. As of 2010 I had nearly 25 years of experience creating, coordinating, integrating, managing and analyzing spatial and spatially related information. I combined that experience with more than 20 years in the information technology and software engineering fields to develop solutions that precisely satisfy client needs.My professional experience at AquaResource included the design, development, deployment and support of an online Climate Change data distribution application for the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, numerous internal projects to assist our team of groundwater modelers to manage and explore the enormous amount of spatial data generated by their modeling efforts, and a data model to facilitate data sharing between Ontario Conservation Authorities.Please refer to the projects linked below for more details.
