Rationalized and restructured existing mobile businesses in Africa; developed new strategies for business expansion in data services, LTE and Data Centres- Undertook a complete strategic review of each business to determine the optimal strategy. Closed two companies due to poor performance and lack of competitive advantage.- Streamlined costs and led negotiations that achieved a multi-million dollar compensation agreement from the Zambian Government.- Led team that was successfully awarded the 4th License in Ivory Coast. Developed a data-centric commercial strategy, based on extensive market research, to be operated seamlessly on combined LTE/5G and Wifi networks. Created detailed plans and budgets and led negotiations with potential large telco partners.

Procuring and implementing business and organisational development projects; providing strategy and problem-solving for clients; identifying & developing new business opportunities.- As Interim CEO, formulated and executed a new strategy for the turnaround of Beeline Cambodia (previously Vimpelcom). Identified opportunity to leapfrog competition through 5G/LTE technology. - Restructured management team, streamlined operational practices and revamped marketing to focus on customer needs, resulting in the reversal of revenue and profit decline. Cashflow improved by $1m per month, revenue growth exceeded 50% in 1 year. - Created & led team advising major microfinance institution (Amret) on mobile banking technology and strategy. Recommendations were implemented in a pilot that saw Amret deliver services over mobile to rural customers. Utilised relevant technologies, combined with customer-driven service design to greatly improve efficiency and market penetration of new loan business. - Co-founded two new media companies, Quantum Publicity and Alkemi Marketing. Supported operational setup and provide ongoing strategic and sales support.

Spearheaded operational turnaround through innovation and productivity improvements; Managed sell-side M&A process.- Initiated extensive cost reduction through strategic prioritisation, cutting non-core projects, outsourcing and refinancing. Achieved 35% reduction in costs per site.- Led a rapid review of operations and market dynamics, refocusing the business on key competitive challenges, which resulted in ARPU three-times the industry average ($10 v. average $3) and the highest customer retention in the industry (churn rate of less than 5%)- Received ‘Best Employer Brand’ Award in recognition of world-class management practices- Led team in sell-side M&A process, resulting in valuations exceeding 8x EBITDA.

Responsible for development of a new joint venture with the Chinese Government and Peoples Party to develop dark fibre network for nationwide e-learning and commercial data & internet services. - Overcame regulatory challenges and managed startup to rollout DWDM fibre network. Change in shareholders and funding priorities ultimately led to the cancellation of the project. - Reassigned to WiMAX startup projects in Cameroon and DRC, preparing and executing operational startups.
