As Basildon Pride CIO continues to grow, we have now restructured the charity, giving a clear separation between the Board of Trustees and the team who operationally run the charity on a day to day basis. My new role is to lead the day to day delivery of the programme of work for the charity including The Basildon Pride Festival and our significantly expanding Basildon Pride Everyday programme. The charity is evolving and I am delighted to be leading this evolution.

As one of the original founders of Basildon Pride, I have been a key part of driving the growth of the organisation including our registration as a charity. I also serve as Project Director for the Festival Organising Committee and Chair of the Basildon Pride Everyday Committee.

Using my vast personal experience in the area of Inclusion and Diversity I aim to support organisations in discovering more about how they can create a more inclusive environment through workshops and business consultancy. I am also available for Key Note speaking engagements.

The Basildon Independent Advisory Group aims to review police work practices, in order to help Essex Police better understand how its processes and policies can affect our different communities.To allow this consultation process, members are recruited to offer advice and guidance to the police, to assist and advise at times of critical incidents and provide constructive feedback around new policy developments and police recruitment. As Chair I also sit on the County wide Strategic Independent Advisory Group.

After successfully establishing the Langdon Hills Estate Residents Association, I have now set up the Radford Park Residents Association on my new estate. I got the association up and running by carrying out a survey in the local area of circa 600 homes. It was clear there was a need for a Residents Association to represent residents needs. We are focusing on building relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that the parking issue in the area is improved, our management company deliver services residents need, our community facility is developed in a way that residents want and running a series of social events to engage the community. We will also act as representatives for the local community in any other issues that arise.

Mayor of Basildon Borough for the municipal year 2019/20 and 2020/21

I was elected Labour Councillor for St. Martin's Ward in the local elections in 2016. I look forward to helping and representing residents with their local needs. My current objectives are to ensure that residents are fully involved in the redevelopment of the town centre which sits in my ward, that I fully represent residents views in relation to the local plan ensuring that we achieve the right mix of housing in the right places with the infrastructure to support them and to continue to fight to get our street lights turned back on at night between 12am and 5pm. I also support residents with numerous ad hoc items of case work and run regular weekend drop in centres.

Elected as Deputy Mayor for the Municipal year 2017/18. Role involves supporting The Mayor in representing the borough and the council at Civic and Ceremonial events, community events and with his Charity work. I also deputise for The Mayor in his other duties such as chairing full council meetings and attending events if he is unavailable. I intend to place a big focus on the Inclusion and Diversity agenda during my term of office.

Leading our Direct Mortgage Team at Metro Bank as we go through a rapid period of growth both in terms of process, store numbers and volume of applications.Continuing to represent the front line business in terms of on going systems and procedural development as we grow.Overall accountability for our Broker Helpdesk Team which deals with a variety of calls from the intermediary market, is responsible for new broker on boarding and has some responsibility for the ongoing monitoring and control of our active brokers.

My main accountabilities include:-Being responsible for the supervision of the team of Mortgage Consultants in the bank.Running the Mortgage Admin Team who are responsible for Broker driven applications from the application to offer stage.Running the Broker Help Desk.The implementation of requirements from the Mortgage Market Review in to the bank including moving from a non-advised to an advised sales process.Looking strategically at how we can drive effective BAU change in the mortgage team

My role involves me supporting the MD for Regional Banking in managing the overall performance of the Regional Banking team as well as working on the strategic direction of the bank with a number of internal and external stakeholder . Joined as a Store Manager of the first ever store to open. Spent 8 months helping to building the bank before leading the team in the first store. Promoted in Nov 2010 to Local Director looking after the Earls Court Store. In August 2011 I added Kensington High Street Store to my team being the first Local Director to be accountable for 2 stores.

I founded and was elected as Chairman of this local residents association which was set up to represent residents fight local issues and bring the standards of the estate back to where they should be. We are also aiming to rebuild a sense of community in the local area.

Started as a High Street Manager in the West End moving to the challenging Stepney Branch which I quickly turning to high performing. Was promoted after 6 months to Superstore Manager and looked after the Barkingside and Hornchurch Branches.

Started here in North London managing the challenging Edmonton Green Store. Moved out to the Romford Store before leaving the company after being approached by Abbey as they were looking for high performing retail managers as part of their turning banking on its head campaign.

Joined the company for it launch in the UK. Was the store manager at the Holborn site and then moved in to the role of Operations Manager with a large part of my role being training, putting new processes in place and liaising with suppliers. Also was responsible for setting up a number of new sites.
