ARCHITECTURAL EXPERIENCEI am a practicing RIBA Chartered Architect working in the UK with over 15 years' industry experience in the design and delivery of a wide range of projects. I have a broad experience across many sectors including developer residential, social housing, private clients, care homes, healthcare, commercial and leisure with project values ranging from £50k to £15m.ACCESSIBLE DESIGNI advise on accessible architectural design with projects ranging from working with individuals in their own homes to designing hospital wards, care homes and improving accessibility in commercial and educational settings. I have designed and delivered many homes for individual clients with specific needs, working closely with Court of Protection teams, Occupational Therapists, Care Managers and the client’s family to create accessible homes that meet the specific needs of my client.EXPERT WITNESSI can act as an Expert Witness or Expert Advisor on litigation cases in two fields of expertise:1. Accommodation needs for people with acquired disabilities2. Architectural Design and Architectural Process negligenceI understand my duties as an Expert Witness under the Civil Procedure Rules and have successfully completed the Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness Training course.ACCOMMODATION EXPERT WITNESSI accept expert witness instructions from both Claimants and Defendants for accommodation needs in medical negligence and personal injury claims. I assess the suitability of the claimant's current home and report my recommendations for their future accommodation needs. I have gained particular expertise working with people who present with, inter alia:- Severely disabled adults and children, in particular cerebral palsy- Spinal injuries including paraplegia and quadriplegia- Cauda Equina- Road traffic accidents- Hypoxic brain injury- Limb amputationsI also carry out Property Searches and prepare Suitability Reports to assist clients, their families and/or Court appointed Deputies to find and adapt suitable and appropriate properties.DESIGN NEGLIGENCE & ARCHITECTURAL PROCESSI accept instruction from both Claimants and Defendants, giving an unbiased and impartial assessment of the facts. I can support legal teams as an Expert Advisor for alternative dispute resolution and as an Expert Witness to provide opinion in disputes relating to:• Negligence in architectural design• Design responsibility / liability • Level of information shown on drawings / clarity of information• Building design in relation to regulatory compliance
