In this position I led the entire technology group of QRI with the objective of discovering, developing and deploying new Augmented AI solutions for QRI´s global customers. These solutions are used both for advisory services and/or for direct commercialization as cloud-based SaaS (Software as a Service).

I conducted research at the MIT for the development of new inverse modeling techniques and data-science solutions that can be used to effectively simulate coupled fluid flow and geomechanic models. This type of models are being used to predict induced seismicity and earthquake triggering.

Developed new numerical methods for smart reservoir management, assisted history matching and oil and gas production optimization. Worked in a multidisciplinary international team that develops and applies R&D technologies.Directed 2-year assisted history matching study for offshore West Africa field. Developed well location optimization (WLO) algorithm to maximize ultimate oil recovery through well placement. Implemented this algorithm to offshore West Africa and South Asia fields.Researched a new technique for streamline-based water-cut sensitivity localization of the Ensemble Kalman Filter; prototype implemented in Shell software and finally applied to field in North Sea.Supervised work of two Summer interns and mentored two new Shell employees.

Converted industrial supply chain system into a mathematical optimization problem. Solved supply chain problem by applying Model Predictive Control techniques.Produced a decision support tool to maximize supply chain profit.

Authored Solution Manual for textbook Process Dynamics and Control, Wiley 2004, by D.E. Seborg, T.F. Edgar and D.A. Mellichamp.Developed new MATLAB solutions for process dynamics and control problems.
