I joined a hugely lucrative £4million CDx project for the company, working with well known Pharmaceutical companies to deliver an NRAS genotyping assay to allow the use of the life extending drug, Binimetinib..

Roche LightCyclers were used extensively to develop and optimize multiplex PCR assays for transition to proprietary in-house Point of Care System – the Enigma MiniLab. During my time here I attained a promotion to Technical Lead for the companies main assay, the Respiratory Viral Panel consisting of 8 targets.

My main duties included stock management and ordering – via Goods In Procedure, and cartridge manufacture for the Mini Laboratory system. In addition I worked towards and helped achieve ISO13485.

Responsible for daily testing of food products in both a chemical lab and a microbiology lab using a LIMS system. I was selected to carry out taste panel and subsequently release product for dispatch.

As the sole photographer based in Longbridge I was responsible for the management and operation of a photography business venture that provided services for Tesco cars. I was required to independently coordinate activities with and around RAC engineers and an office team. In addition to capturing stills I used specialized photography equipment and software.

Through a summer work placement during my degree I took the opportunity to assist Dr Hidalgo with a research project looking at cell counts in Drosophila fly brains using a confocal microscope to scan brain sections.I excelled at micro-dissection of Drosophila brains, a skill requiring a high level of manual dexterity and patience.
