- Through my world leading health data science PhD I have been involved in many rotational projects. I have also had the opportunity to be involved with multiple different experiences to help shape me as a leader in the field.- My prior projects & current project are displayed below in the projects section for a deeper read.- I have been involved in recruitment for new cohorts on the PhD programme via having a place on the interview panels as a student representative- I have engaged with PPIE talks in which I gave a lay summary of my research project to participants in HDRUK's public advisory panel - I am participating in HDRUK-Turings leadership programme specific for our course, in which we are receiving mentorship from affiliated industrial partners to the two national institutions- Finally, through my time at Birmingham I have had the opportunity to participate as a teaching assistant for the new module MSc Health Data Science

The aim of this project was to generate high fidelity, privacy preserving, fair synthetic data. Specifically we focused on single table data sources. We did this through the SynthVAE model which can be found on github at the following link . This is a variational autoencoder model that generates single table data with differential privacy guarantees from the DP-SGD learning algorithm.The main outputs from this project were as follows:- An updated version of SynthVAE that includes multiple feature updates (such as early stopping, improved visualisation of training losses, new gaussian mixture modelling pre-processing for continuous variables)- Report outlining work done as well as in depth review of future avenues of work- Introduced the idea of "de-biasing" unfair training data such that the synthetic set removes any bias that could negatively impact downstream tasks
