Directed the day-to-day operations of the bimonthly magazine (6 issues, 192 pages per year), specializing in reviews of published works of fiction, poetry, and literary and cultural criticism from small, regional, university, ethnic, avant-garde, and women’s presses. Created and implemented the production schedule. Identified and interviewed press editors/publishers for feature in each issue. Assigned book reviews to identified scholars. Selected reviews and arranged them in each issue. Copyedited, fact checked, proofread, and typeset issues. Guided contributors (about 180 annually) and their pieces through the production process. Managed submissions, coordinated contributors, and liaised with off-campus associate and contributing editors. Worked with printer to maintain quality control. Created, oversaw, updated, and managed all material on the website. Renovated and maintained social networking profiles. Scheduled and created work assignments and supervised undergraduate interns, graduate assistants and interns, and administrative assistant. Assisted editorial board in book selection and evaluation and assigned deadlines. Answered general email queries. Maintained contacts and book log databases. Managed all subscription information, payments, claims, complaints, and inquiries for all subscribers internationally. Coordinated the mailing of each issue. Assisted preparation of grant applications. Created and published index of reviews printed within each volume year. Compensated contributors. Designed and disseminated marketing material. Assisted coordinating UHV/ABR Reading Series’ public lectures and private receptions (8–10 authors annually). Requested review copies from presses. Attended the annual Association of Writers & Writing Programs (AWP) Conference.
