Converting open-source automated surveillance into elder care smart home assistant

Building open source software to provide automated, private, artificial intelligence monitoring and assistance. Using a combination of Home Assistant (home-assistant.io), Open Horizon (github.com/open-horizon), and a variety of open source components including Docker, motion-project.io, ImageMagick, nVidia DIGITS, YOLO, InfluxDB, and Grafana.

Identifying problems and solutions for building, managing, and improving AI systems using closed-loop feedback from community of identified and community-credentialed actors in a futures market for supplying training data, ensuring supply-chain quality, and compensating contributors commensurate with contribution toward accurate and precise predictions, sufficient to perform actions with significant liabilities.

Provide expertise to large clients for solution architecture, design, implementation, monitoring and management for international deployments in finance, healthcare, media & entertainment, gaming and other industries.Lead IBM OpenStack client engagements and provide support to global sales organization.

• Strategy leadership for pioneering integrated industry solutions division; enterprise hardware, novel software and services offerings and acquisition growth to over US$5B in sales, leading to #1 Health Care I/T vendor.• Research, identify and quantity market opportunities for industry-specific solutions, including cloud-delivered mobile clinical computing, radiological image storage and genetic analysis leveraging organic and partner software, hardware and services.• Assist clients with technology assessments and best-practice architectures, including virtualized, high-availability of EPIC Electronic Health Record system on LINUX including RedHat, Intel and VMware.• Lead and perform as key member in evaluation and technical due diligence for acquisitions, including InsiteOne, now Dell Unified Clinical Archive (UCA) and leading cloud-based radiological image storage.• Participate as corporate representative in external technical and standards organizations – including HITSP and ANSI – on subjects of privacy, security and regulatory compliance.

• Define and develop open, standards-based, service-oriented architecture (SOA) reference model for all health care and life sciences industry solutions, including patient centric networks (UCSF), clinical development (J&J), bioinformatics (NIE) and value driven compliance.• Represent IBM Health Care & Life Sciences at internal and external forums and conferences on SOA, Business Intelligence (BI), clinical decision support, accountability, governance and privacy of health information practices.• Lead for personalized medicine utilizing information-based clinical decision support integrating phenotypic, genotypic and imaging information for pharmaceutical clinical development (Pfizer), basic research & discovery (Chiron) and radiological and pathology imaging (Merck)

• Manage technical sales team (18 FTE) for worldwide consulting & software solutions organization achieving YTY growth rates of 300% and exceeding objectives (150%) on annual basis within overall revenue of US$4B+.• Recipient of IBM Golden Circle award for Top 1% Individual Global Sales• Participate in a global multi-disciplinary team identifying market requirements, determining technical architecture and feasibility, and collaborating with early-adopter clients. Manage research and development for bespoke solutions for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and academic & government customers. Lead implementations of industry solutions globally (US, EMEA, APJ).

• Manage and budget (US$20M; 80 FTE) global multi-disciplinary software organization in USA, Belgium, Ireland, Japan, Korea, and Germany developing BI & marketing automation solutions portfolio (n.b. DecisionEdge) of US$1B division revenue for finance, insurance, retail and Internet industries with customers, business partners and ISV's.• Present business intelligence research, development and application topics to customers, industry analysts and IBM internal audiences.

• Build, lead and manage an elite team (8 FTE) of research scientists delivering focused solutions utilizing advanced machine learning and data mining techniques across IBM’s product portfolio – including Intelligent Miner, Lotus, SurfAid (acquired by CoreMetrics) and WebSphere.
