In this role I guided the organization through a successful Agile transformation and established a software development life cycle (SDLC), repairing trust and the influence of the technology division. Several new roles and disciplines were introduced, including QA (quality assurance), SEO (search engine optimization), ADA compliance (Americans with Disabilities Act, WCAG 2.2 AA), SM (Scrum Master), PO (Product Owner), and more. In less than two years, my hierarchy of reports grew by 633% with a recruitment ROI of 426%.While restructuring the technology division, we supported over 25 legacy applications with unique stacks for various projects and stakeholders and I led a hands-on effort to redesign and rebuild the legacy flagship application. The new app architecture leveraged REST APIs to decouple the CMS from the presentation layer. We wrapped the CMS in a Kubernetes (K8s) cluster and migrated it to cloud infrastructure in AWS with full redundancy in Azure. The front end was rebuilt with React.js and Next.js and deployed to Vercel with Cloudflare as the CDN. The modernized solution reduced costs, optimized performance, and shrank the attack surface among other benefits across the “-ilities.”

As the Director of Software Integration, I spearheaded initiatives to replace antiquated, labor-intensive business processes with modern automated web system integrations across a diverse technological ecosystem. The most notable project was the complete overhaul of the core web payment engine that processes over 100 million annually. We reduced costs, increased system up-time and availability to better than 99.9% (previously under 95%), reinforced cybersecurity, and improved transparency, all with a scalable solution that could support the growing demands of a more dynamic and personalization-based marketing strategy.

As the Digital Rx Engineering Manager, I oversaw all digital platforms for Rx management services. I coordinated with stakeholders across lines of business to ensure alignment on CVS’ business objectives and coached multiple software engineering teams through SAFe Agile transformation within a Fortune 5 enterprise.

• Designed and developed new internal and external products (Bootstrap 4+, React.js, Elixir, GraphQL).• Supported legacy (jQuery, C#, SQL) financial applications that process over 2 billion annually.• Worked on a small high-performance full-stack team of on-site and off-site developers.
