Initially appointed as IT advisor to Biomass Ventures and rapidly progressed to CTO responsible for Biomass Venture’s IT platform and COO responsible for developing local Sri Lankan operations. Supported broader strategy and next round of funding:• Designed IT and operating platform, sourced IT capabilities in Sri Lanka, developed platform and supported successful deployment over a period of 16 months – now registering 3,000 farmers a month and managing planting and harvesting for registered farmers• Implemented robust IT development processes and platform support operations• Developed operating capabilities of local Sri Lankan company, Biomass Supplies, along with clear operating plans and assembled Investor Memorandum to support next round of funding ($10m)

Expanded the sales and delivery capabilities globally using a network of application partners and developed solutions that delivered substantial client profitability, utilising IBM technology and change:• Drove 40% growth in global publishing sector and led pitches across multiple accounts in Europe, US and Japan and developed and sold editorial and advertising solutions that sold all aspects of IBM• Realised a 50%+ increase in sales in Italy and Benelux within just six months; led and won a highly competitive $100m proposal for a major European Broadcaster• Handled though leadership that yielded direct success in the development of new entertainment distribution, social networking and cross sector/channel advertising

In late 1995, founded Media & Entertainment practice building on insights and contacts from music and retail home entertainment background. As the principal source of thought leadership, took Accenture into Music Labels, Academic Publishing, Newspapers, Mobile Data Services and Advertising - building a £30m+ per annum business in five years. Extended media practice into Telco and Cable as part of convergence push. Incubated several internet startups.Led strategy work for major record label and then international forum of music recording industry leaders. Accurately anticipated the industry's trajectory and set out practical initiatives to better position the industry and its key players. The industry's CatCo is one outcome of this work.Set out and executed strategy to develop the Digital Content Services (DCS) line of business to a global level. DCS offerings built on Media engagements with applications across Media, Mobile, Cable and Financial Services. Achieved DCS engagement revenue growth of over 50% in Europe.

Reporting for most of his time to the main board Director of Strategy and Business Development, David worked in a mix of senior operating and corporate roles across Kingfisher's high street formats, wholesaling unit and startup operations. David began in group corporate planning & finance roles with responsibility for monthly management reporting and annual & strategic planning - for the high street formats. His work resulted in significant changes to two retail subsidiaries -- with £50m in short term, per annum profit improvements from benchmarking and process redesign work. He envisioned and developed the strategy and organisation of the Home Entertainment sector bringing together the £1.25billion in group sales across entertainment hardware, sell-thru, rental, and mail order.Davids operating roles, included restructuring video rental subsidiaries into franchise outlets and supply chain operations - with responsibility for procurement, merchandising, stock control and warehouse operations. He innovated with video rental consessions in Woolworth's, studio revenue share deals, and Video-on-demand (with BT and Video Networks).

On transferring to the US in late 1987, David was a project manager in the Washington DC office. Assignments focused on the delivery of major systems design and implementation - mainly in financial services. David led pan-US team to centralise support operations for the US FDIC and set up the Resolution Trust Company to deal with the Thrift Crisis. He also led the design of a cost management system for a $1bn mortgage securitization organisation which led to $50m in implementation and other follow on work.Initially based in London, David undertook a range of systems design and evaluation assignments in retail, wholesale distribution and food & drink industries. His work included the re-organisation of a 'blue chip' client's system's development department to successfully recover timetable on project's six months behind schedule.
