Vp - Portfolio Management | Institutional Portfolio Manager | Product Manager
Greater Milwaukee Area
As an Institutional Portfolio Manager, I was a member of the 2012 Lipper Small Company (<$50B) Fixed Income Manager of the Year Award winning team. My responsibilities were an ongoing book of institutional accounts. This included managing accounts and performing all meetings and presentations with Institutional clients presenting specific performance, attribution, holdings, buy/sell rationale, and all other client specific requests. The institutional client meetings and presentations included sector analysis, yield curve positioning, credit quality weights, duration targeting, economic and market review and forecasting. In addition, analytical papers and emails explaining performance in specific funds and separate accounts was done on a proactive quarterly basis. I also wrote the quarterly fixed income market commentary for publication and website posting.Another area of responsibility was in the creation and development of investment policies with on-going analysis and consultation based on the clients specific goals. These objectives varied greatly based on the type of client (corporate, foundation, endowment, government, not for profit, school district, college, university, etc.) The consistent review created a mutual understanding of the expected investment portfolio structure and reporting.Working closely with other portfolio managers, fund managers, investment managers and executive management helped me gain an unrivaled level of fluidity and coordination when leading meetings with the Firm’s largest institutional and potential clients. The fixed income market was certainly challenging, especially going through the economic and market downturn of 2007-2009, but it certainly solidified some strong relationships and provided and unequaled level of education that cannot be replicated.
