RISE Costa Rica is the culmination of years of soul-searching and reflecting on my life's purpose. After I transitioned out of my 'high-risk, high-reward, action-packed' corporate life, I decided to focus my energy on how I could better serve humanity. It was during my first trip to Burning Man in 2013, that it all slowly began to make sense. I realized that true fulfillment for me would come from service to others. This sparked the idea in me to combine my real estate and finance experience and create a community where people can come together to live, love and learn while also fulfilling there entrepreneurial goals. We identified Costa Rica as the ideal place to set up RISE. Right from the beginning we wanted to create and nurture the deep connection to ancient wisdom and teachings of the land. RISE blends a residential village, Waldorf-inspired school, coworking studio, certified organic farm and wellbeing retreat into one dynamic, prosperous community in Costa Rica.

When I moved to California in 2015, a team of fantastic entrepreneurs who had then just created a line of kombucha invited me to try their beverage. Having tasted other kombuchas before and been skeptical until then, I was immensely surprised by the unique taste of this particular creation. I was instantly called to support it and decided to set up a small kombucha production facility at our Rise Costa Rica property. From our modest start the company has experienced tremendous growth and is now sold nationwide. In 2020, we became the first company to receive approval from the Ministry of Health to sell a CBD infused product. To date we are the only company to receive such approval. In 2022, we launched the first hard kombucha in Costa Rica. Kombucha Culture is the market leading brand of kombucha in Costa Rica with over 70% share. We craft our kombucha in the beautiful Valle General in Perez Zeledon. Most of our ingredients are sourced directly from our on-site certified organic farm to ensure its unique and distinctive taste. In early 2019, we decided to create a unique hospitality experience under our RISE Costa Rica brand umbrella. Kinkara means 'the beginning' and is derived from the native, indigenous Boruca tribe of Costa Rica.
