Right Of Way Permitting Engineer
CurrentRight of Way permitting functions in the review of utility asset maintenance or installation and the maintenance of traffic plan review for the construction activity. The ROW Permit Engineer reviews detailed working drawings, specifications, and contract documents for general or specialized utility projects within the public right-of-way; reads and interprets technical drawings and diagrams, plans and specifications, etc., to facilitate proper construction; conducts reviews for proper coordination of construction of sanitary sewers, water mains, storm sewers, streets, sidewalks, curbs, buildings, private utilities and other structures. The ROW Permit Engineer assists in the ROW Data Management in GIS for mapping and sharing of information in the emerging data platform.Additional duties may include on-site inspections of construction jobs; provide input and review of development or revisions of rules, regulations, ordinances, and correspondence; answers questions on the phone or in person in order to inform the public about city services, billing, municipal ordinances, inspections, parking, etc.; establish and maintain related data collection systems to support both operations and maintenance; support GIS functions for data management; receive and respond in writing to requests from the general public and representatives of other agencies in order to provide information.Perform related work as required.
