Responsible for the supervision of nearly 200 state-chartered banks and credit unions holding combined assets of over $400 billion. Also responsible for the licensing and supervision of nearly 500 mortgage lenders and brokers; over 7,000 individual mortgage loan originators; and an additional 3,000 non-bank financial entities, including check cashers.

Oversaw the daily operations of the Division's staff of 160 and $17 million budget. Advised the Commissioner on all policy, regulatory, and legislative matters.Facilitated the nation's first summit of regulators, industry, and community organizations in November 2006 to tackle the growing foreclosure and mortgage fraud problems. Drafted the foreclosure.

Served as Chief Fiscal Officer by directing the administration of the Division's $12 million budget and a staff of 170, including revenue and accounting, information technology, human resources, and media relations.Served on the initial working group which led to the creation of the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.

Oversaw all aspects of the Division's CRA & fair lending examinations as well as outreach. Later assumed responsibility for licensing and examinations of all banks, credit unions, mortgage companies, debt collectors, money transmitters, and check cashers. Substantially improved efficiency and productivity in both licensing and examination programs.

Directed outreach efforts to consumer and community organizations as well as the bank and credit union industries. Supported CRA and fair lending examinations and worked to resolve problem institutions. Drafted "CRA and Fair Lending Policy" in response to landmark discrimination study. Worked with federal regulators, industry, and community organizations.

Conducted examinations of State-chartered banks and credit unions for compliance with Community Reinvestment Act and fair lending laws and regulations.
