I write web-based and traditional software applications using C#, Winforms, WPF, WCF, SignalR, EntityFramework, WPF, ASP, .NET, IIS, and SQL to glue together or extend the utility of legacy systems or to provide new tailored applications to support business processes for which no pre-packaged application exists. Designed and implemented from scratch a complete Customer Support department for a fast growing technology company. After creation of the support offering, managed all facets of the support business unit from staffing to equipment to monitoring and process control. Reported to the COO.- Create and implement all scripts and business processes for all customer support functions.- Create and implement organizational structure of department.- Specify staff roles and hire to fill.- Approve training materials and see to their use by staff.- Design, implement and utilize Crystal Reports run against ticketing and VOIP databases to monitor staff and department performance. - Make changes to business processes and tools use based on reporting results and business goals.- Design and implement customer interaction experience via both phone and web site interface.- Act as a technical resource for other departments on topics ranging from web development to RADIUS to T-SQL.

I have a Minor in Electrical Engineering and had yet to get much use from it. Wanting to explore electronics more fully I hired into Sailtech as a bench technician... fixing radars, radios, GPS chart plotters and such. I was very good. And very fast. It was also discovered that I could do pretty much anything with a computer so I was tasked with every technical challenge that the company encountered, including performing a backoffice system migration with no migration tool from the legacy system and an e-commerce site from the ground up.

During my post-Microsoft years, let's call it a sabbatical, I took a job as a commissioned yacht broker. This may seem quite odd given that the rest of my experience is all technology-centric. Understand then that I did this as a self-improvement exercise. I had always bemoaned the fact that I couldn't sell ice in the desert and I thought it was about time that I learned to sell. Being a believer in the immersion school of education, I took the job on a commission-only basis. It came as a complete shock that after the year was over I had actually made more than was expected of a first year broker. Not only had I survived the first year of a sales position, but I had actually done better than most.

Created and refined the concept of the Rapid Onsite Support Services (ROSS) team. Managed all day-to-day and strategic functions. By the end of my term as manager, ROSS had grown from a one-man operation to a support service with team members nationwide, a global reach, and a budget of over $1 million annually.
