My main activities entailed presentations, tool demonstrations, proposals, contract reviews, commercial negotiations, tool installations and delivery, training courses, data conversion and migration and tool utility development. During the secondment period I added a number of new customers for both ASSET and OPTIMA, including C&W Panama, PORTA Ecuador, COMCEL Guatemala, TELEMOVIL El Salvador and CELTEL Honduras. AIRCOM went from no business outside of Brazil to around a million dollars in sales.

A training CD was created for NOKIA that offered a step-by-step tutorial to designing a GSM network using ASSET. • Provided training to MTN South Africa on the company’s drive-test logging and analysis tool, NEPTUNE.• Joined 3G Hutchison workforce to assist with the rollout of the first 3G network in the UK. Responsible for installing AIRCOM tools and writing a client-server specification to interconnect Hutchison offices nationwide.• Provided tool ASSET and CONNECT demonstrations for operators in Mexico (TELCEL) and Taiwan (Fareastone).

On the back of this, an endoscopic camera manipulator (EndoAssist) has been developed and has become one of ARMSTRONG Healthcare Ltd.’s key products. It is intended for use in minimally invasive, laparoscopic, thoracoscopic, urological, gynaecological and cardiac surgery. It allows the surgeon to control the rigid endoscopy scope by way of head gestures and movements. ARMSTRONG is now part of a worldwide organisation for the design and construction of medical robotics.
