Using all the experience I gained with RBS to help successful businesses grow by providing part-time Finance Director services. Particularly aimed at strong growing businesses, I can bring a professional and proactive approach to their financial management.My main area of work is with clients with turnover £0.5m - £10m, mainly in the wider East Midlands. Arrangements are extremely flexible with input on a one-off, weekly, monthly or contract basis. Some examples of my work with clients in the short time I have been operating in this role:-• X Ltd – very significant partner of a large supermarket, I helped to get the stressed cash flow and financial reporting of the business under control • Z Ltd – a partner of a large High Street retailer, I oversaw a refinance exercise and helped the business to bring their finance function up to date whilst the business was going through a very significant growth phase

Driving and supporting a team of Relationship Managers and Relationship Directors across the region to deliver properly structured debt solutions to Commercial Banking clients and hence maximise our Asset Growth.

Helping businesses to survive and prosper by improving their profitability and cash generation, whilst also protecting the Bank's position. As a Relationship Director within SRM, I provided dedicated relationship management support to SME customers experiencing signs of financial stress, ensuring that appropriate risk based solutions were provided to customers in a timely manner. Most of the businesses helped were in the £2M to £25M turnover band and I had a very high success rate of returning almost 80% of my clients back to the mainstream part of the Bank.

Managing the Banking relationship for a portfolio of Commercial Banking clients who all trade overseas, either as an exporter or an importer. Using my specialist sectoral knowledge to improve the customer offering and make suitable connections. Helped customers to define their foreign exchange strategy and introduce risk management activities when trading overseas.

Responsibility to increase international capability of the Bank's Commercial Banking clients across the region by operating through intermediaries and also via a team of sector specialist International Relationship Managers which I recruited from within the existing mainstream business. Was one of the first people nationally to be accredited by the Institute of Export as a Certified International Trade Advisor (CITA).

I was asked to bring some of the advanced relationship management skills that we employed at the Bank into EMDA, and specifically into a team who were managing EMDA's relationships with the Sub-Regional Strategic Partnerships. This was a very enjoyable and interesting exercise which gave me the opportunity to look at Banking from the outsiders view.
