I managed two different projects per the detailed SKF methodology, for a four-month period. One project involved the transfer of a product line between global manufacturing sites, and the other an entirely new product going through the NPI development phases before being released to market.

I managed global cross-functional teams based in America and Asia. Key responsibilities within this operations management role included product cost, quality, lead-time and introduction of new product lines to the market.

Linlithgow

Following engineering roles I was promoted into manufacturing management to start up a new product line, hire staff, lead production meetings and ramp line to volume.Subsequently I was appointed to the role of Business Unit / Operations Manager, with staff of over 100 including quality engineering. Several new philosophies were introduced by the team e.g. Activity Based Costing, CEO (part of 5S) and cell manufacturing.

Initially hired as a supplier engineer, responsible for all aspects of printed circuit boards built externally. Duties included frequent site visits, audits and introduction of new product lines.When the company in-sourced, roles changed. As process engineer I took ownership for various processes internally and worked with manufacturing (buying equipment, running trials, training etc) before handing over a process capable of meeting the business needs.
