Student researcher in Comparative Genomics laboratory (Jeffrey Dacosta PhD.) studying genetic link of brood parasitism in African Finches. Work included preparing samples for Illumina next generation sequencing and mapping and analyzing resulting FASTQ files using a linux-based computer cluster with commercially available and custom Python scripts. Candidate genes were visualized using R.

Student Researcher in a Molecular Genetics laboratory (Rebecca Dunn, PhD.). Performed analysis of conjugation and over-expression of Ubiquitin-Like-Proteins, particularly FUB1 in S. Cerevisiae. Transformed cells with plasmids contained histidine tagged proteins. Isolated proteins and conjugates were prepped for Mass-Spec.
