As a long-time employee, I filled many roles including lead developer, SCRUM master, and product owner (sometimes simultaneously). As principal engineer, I led the platform team and the transition to a service-oriented architecture, and I tackled many infrastructure projects that the rest of the teams rely on, such as implementing distributed consumer groups for Elixir's Kafka library, and tackled several scaling problems.

As Pulse's first hire, I developed much of the early data processing architecture using Erlang, Clojure, Kafka, Hadoop, and Voldemort.

Tackled many scalability issues as the user base grew several orders of magnitude during my tenure. I also built a framework for rapid, iterative testing of signup and invitation flows which helped fuel that growth while driving down acquisition costs by about 50%.

Developed flight software for CubeSat-class satellites, including command and data handling, attitude determination and control algorithms, and payload-specific controls. I also wrote flight-readiness testing procedures and distributed earth station software.
