Responsible for developing and managing global process for business development, program management and quality for Joint Venture between Johnson Controls and Saft.-Implement Program Management standards including the launch of a global Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System.-Manage global business development activities including customer relationship, quote management and business strategy to support emerging automotive battery system markets in US, Europe and China.-Implement processes and procedures to achieve global certification to TS16949 and QS9001 quality management standards at all Johnson Controls – Saft facilities.

-Hired to support the streamlining and sale of three divisions which represent over $1 billion in assets and $2.5 billion in annual sales after a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in May of 2005. -Oversaw program management and financial control infrastructure during corporate restructuring of an automotive supply company. -Assesses and resolves engineering, process, and organizational constraints by developing process improvements and controls.-Implemented a financial/strategic business review process to review customer business quotes with consistent and accurate cost models. -Designed and established the Advanced Planning Quality Process (APQP) along with program management controls for new program development.

-Served as one of six sustainable mobility technology (SMT) chief engineers within the SMT group, consisting of approximately 400 engineers. -Directed the development of fuel-efficient powertrains for passenger vehicles, specifically the second-generation hybrid systems for the Fusion/Milan sedan as well as the Escape, Mariner, and Tribute -------Hybrid programs, including technical execution, schedule, supplier management, vehicle profitability (cost control), and field performance. -Coordinated with sales, marketing, and public affairs divisions in promotional efforts for the social and economic benefits of vehicle hybridization.-Reduced per unit cost of high-voltage battery systems by 30% through effective component supplier management and coordination with engineering team.-Improved functional performance and drivability as well as lowered costs for the 2009 Escape/Mariner/Tribute Hybrid program through productive collaboration with engineering and marketing divisions.

-Led product engineering for vehicle prototype testing and development; coordinated with over 100 internal and external (supplier) engineers in identifying and resolving product build and test issues, specifically the 2000 Taurus/Sable and the Freestar/Monterey launches. -Addressed vehicle quality issues based on pre-production assembly plant vehicle builds, fleet evaluation drive programs, and customer field concerns.-Served on the operating committee that directed the Chicago assembly plant to J.D. Power’s top honors for passenger vehicles throughout North America (2001).-Spearheaded the product engineering launch of the Freestar/Monterey (an $830-million program) focused on powertrain, chassis, and interior upgrades.-Promoted to Chief Engineer of the Escape/Mariner/Tribute hybrid electric programs.

-Provided leadership in the development of financial models for manufacturing viability evaluation. -Assessed product development processes to ensure that resources were aligned with engineering. -Created resource models and engineering work-streams, facilitating workflow throughout the product development system.-Validated operational efficiencies and awareness of value stream opportunities within the organization by leading the development of ‘Theory of Constraints’ simulations.-Developed a flexibility-spending financial model for risk management and market volatility.
