I served as the Nurse Informatics Educator and Information Technology Specialist sharing specialized knowledge, with information and communication technologies to promote the health and well-being of individuals in our care. I developed, implemented, and instructed training programs for the applications used by our staff. I supported network functionality through network administration and hardware maintenance. Additionally, I oversaw, operated and maintained the Electronic Healthcare Records systems so patients' confidential medical information can be securely populated, tracked and retrieved any time it is needed.My selected contributions include: ▶ Ensuring organization mission goals and technological processes support highest standards for improved quality, and provider and patient satisfaction by facilitating discussions between organization and medical staff ▶ Maintaining 120 current and 1300 discharged patient records while ensuring confidentiality of information maintained▶ Improving systems and processes affecting integration of multiple healthcare disciplines▶ Contributing strong technical knowledge to troubleshooting system issues. Repairing hardware, i.e., broken tablet screens, workstation hardware, firmware chips in elopement monitoring units, network administration ▶ Creating customized staff training programs▶ Training all medical staff (nurses, aides, practitioners, dietitians, physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists) to effectively use various key systems: Athena, BlueStep, and Organization centric interfaces: lab, imaging services and pharmaceutical ▶ Maintaining awareness of available resources and making budgetary and projecting recommendations to appropriate leadership for future information technology needs▶ Implementing process improvements.
