As the Principal and Co-Founder of Dochter & Alexander, he has shaped the industry's modern landscape and redefined the way relationships are leveraged for success. Dochter represents landlords and tenants throughout the region and has been one of the most influential brokers over his 20-year-plus career. Dochter has been involved in some of the most prominent leasing deals and some of the highest-profile property sales in Washington DC in the last decade. Dochter and his team are well known for their influence in many of the highest-profile transactions throughout the region. From achieving the highest price per square foot for a retail sale in DC’s history to helping secure the earlier luxury tenants launching City Center to bringing H&M, GAP, REI, Sur La Table to establish Pike & Rose district to representing Amazon Fresh in their first east coast store and subsequently representing them in the first 15 Amazon Fresh locations throughout the region to launching Chase with their first location in DC and continuing to help them expand. David’s passion for retail brands has made him known as an expert in Fashion, Food & Entertainment, Financial Services, Grocery, Medical and other retail with best-in-class brands looking to expand in the region. David is well known for working on many of the region’s most significant projects including DCUSA, Gallery Place, District Center, the redevelopment of Georgetown Park among others. As Executive Director of Cushman & Wakefield’s Retail Services Group, David Dochter leads the Washington, DC retail team alongside his partner Matt Alexander. David founded the retail services practice in Washington DC in 2006 and has focused on agency leasing and tenant representation where he has been responsible for providing brokerage services for some of the region’s most prominent tenants and retail projects.
