WAT, Inc. is a small business founded in 1980 to provide product development and applied technology services to the technical community. WAT's design offices and laboratories occupy a 2,750 square foot facility in Vershire, Vermont. Laboratory equipment includes standard and custom built electronic test equipment,microcontroller programmers, a prototyping shop and an assembly shop. The prototyping shop has two milling machines, two lathes, bandsaw, grinder, etc, and includes an encapsulation facility (hood, oven and molds) and an environmental testing chamber. One of the more unusual pieces of equipment is a custom built electromagnet which delivers a 2 Tesla field across a two inch air gap over its 35square inch poles. WAT maintains a technical library with 2000+ volumes, and a product catalog file per the EEM index. CAD packages include: electronic: OrCAD, SPICE; mechanical:Alibre, DesignCAD, AutoCAD; and computational: MAXSYMA, MathCAD, AEGIS (FEM package), FEMM (electromagnetic).
