During my degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, I conducted in-depth research on the metabolic adaptation of colorectal cancer cells to chronic double stress conditions, such as hypoxia and amino acid deprivation. My project focused on modeling the HIF and ISR cellular pathways, exploring how these stresses impact the invasiveness and migration capacity of cancer cells.Using the HCT116 cell line, I performed gene expression experiments through qPCR and protein analysis via Western blot and proteomics. I examined the effect of double stress on critical cellular parameters such as migration, proliferation, and the overexpression of the CRIP1 protein, which emerged as a potential marker associated with a poorer prognosis in colorectal cancer patients.This experience allowed me to develop advanced skills in laboratory techniques, proteomics, bioinformatics, and clinical data interpretation.
